Method
- Heat the Cider
- Pour apple cider into a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add Flavor
- Stir in caramel sauce, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Whisk until caramel melts completely and the mixture is smooth.
- Simmer Gently
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 5–7 minutes to blend the flavors.
- (Don’t boil — it can make the cider cloudy.)
- Add Vanilla & Serve
- Stir in vanilla extract, then pour into mugs.
- Top & Enjoy
- Add whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a cinnamon stick for that perfect cozy finish.
Notes
Use fresh apple cider, not apple juice, for a deeper flavor.
Make it creamier by adding a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half before serving.
For a salted caramel twist, use salted caramel sauce and a light sprinkle of sea salt flakes on top.
Can be made in a slow cooker for parties — keep warm on low heat for up to 2 hours.
For an adult version, add a splash of spiced rum or bourbon before serving (optional).
