Method
- Boil the Eggs
- Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water.
- Bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and cover for 10–12 minutes.
- Cool in ice water, peel, and slice in half lengthwise.
- Prepare the Deviled Filling
- Remove yolks and place in a mixing bowl.
- Mash yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Fill the Eggs
- Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
- Make Olive Spiders
- Slice each black olive in half for the body.
- Cut thin strips for legs.
- Assemble spiders on top of the deviled eggs using a little cream cheese or mayo to stick.
- Garnish & Serve
- Sprinkle a pinch of paprika for color (optional).
- Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.
Notes
For extra spooky effect, use whole black olives for the body and cut tiny slivers for legs.
Make ahead: prepare deviled eggs and spiders separately, assemble just before serving.
Try adding a tiny dab of sriracha or smoked paprika for a “bloody” touch.
