Method
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Brie
- If desired, spread a thin layer of honey or fig jam on top of the brie.
- Create the Mummy Wraps
- Cut the puff pastry into thin strips (about ½ inch wide). Wrap them loosely around the brie, leaving small gaps so it looks like mummy bandages.
- Add the Eyes
- Place olive slices or candy eyes near the top for the mummy’s face.
- Brush and Bake
- Brush the puff pastry with beaten egg for a shiny, golden finish. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers, apple slices, or pretzels.
Notes
Add a layer of fig, apricot, or raspberry jam for a sweet touch before wrapping.
You can use candy eyes for a fun presentation (remove before eating).
Make ahead: assemble the brie, refrigerate, and bake just before serving.
Serve immediately for the best melty texture.
