Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp butter or coconut oil for dairy-free
  • ¼ cup milk or heavy cream adjust for desired texture
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar optional for sweetness
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Instant Pot or electric pressure cooker
  • Potato masher or hand mixer
  • Peeler and knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Prepare Sweet Potatoes
  2. Peel and cube sweet potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Add them to the Instant Pot with 1 cup of water.
  3. Pressure Cook
  4. Secure lid and set to Manual (High Pressure) for 10 minutes.
  5. When done, do a quick release of pressure.
  6. Mash
  7. Drain any excess water if needed. Add butter, milk, salt, and optional maple syrup or cinnamon.
  8. Mix & Serve
  9. Mash with a potato masher or blend with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Notes

For extra richness, use heavy cream instead of milk.
Add roasted garlic or herbs for a savory twist.
Keep warm in the Instant Pot on the “Warm” setting until serving.
Can be made ahead — just reheat with a splash of milk before serving.
